 Microsoft Defender is licensed for installation and use on Institutionally Owned computers, computers owned by the University of New Hampshire and/or the University System of New Hampshire offices. The current version supports macOS up to the current version 11.02 (Big Sur)

      • Does your macOS device still have ESET installed? Click here for instructions on how to remove ESET and install Defender in just a few quick steps! For new macOS devices, Defender will be available to install from the Self Service app listed under Applications in Finder. Please call the Service Desk at 603 862 4242 if you do not see this option or require additional assistance.

Personally Owned Apple Computers

Personally Owned Apple Computers are encouraged to run an antivirus product. One such offering is Sophos Antivirus for Mac Home Edition which is available here for no cost for Personally Owned computers but is prohibited from running on Institutionally Owned Apple Computers. Faculty and Staff should use Microsoft Defender for Mac above on Institutionally Owned Apple computers.
