Xtender: Reorder Pages Within a Document

This tip is for anyone using the web version of Xtender, and who has the security to modify documents within Xtender.

Sometimes the pages of a document are out of order. What to do? Well, if you have the security to modify documents, you're in luck - you can reorder the pages. There are a few different ways to move the pages around. You can drag and drop, you can use the menu, or you can cut and paste.

To reorder the pages within a document, using drag and drop:

  1. Select the thumbnails of the pages you wish to move (to select more than one, hold down the Ctrl key while you click on the thumbnails). Selected thumbnails will be outlined in blue. And, if you've selected more than one, they will also have a checkmark in the upper left corner.

  2. Once selected, drag them to the new location in the thumbnails pane.
Note: Each thumbnail you pass will get a dashed blue outline. When you release the mouse to drop the pages, the pages will be placed in front of whichever thumbnail has that dashed blue line.

  3. A confirmation pop-up will appear. Either acknowledge the move or cancel it.

To reorder the pages within a document, using the menu:

  1. Select the thumbnail of the pages you wish to move (hold down the Ctrl key while you click on the thumbnails to select more than one). Selected thumbnail will be outlined in blue.
Note: with this option, you can only select and move one page at a time.

  2. Follow the menu path: Page >> Reorder Page and select the appropriate option (Move to First, Move Up, or Move Down).

  3. A confirmation pop-up will appear. Either acknowledge the move or cancel it.
