Canvas (myCourses): What happens to my access when I leave the institution?

Task: This article contains information on what happens to Canvas access when you depart one of the USNH institutions.

Instructions:

Granite State College

Faculty & Staff

  • All computer accounts for full-time faculty are disabled on the date of their last day of employment.
  • All computer accounts for adjunct faculty and lecturers are disabled 365 days after the end of their most recent job. This applies to the following ECLS codes: F7, F8, F9.
  • All staff computer accounts will be disabled on the date of their last day of employment.

Student

GSC students retain access to Moodle and WebROCK for 3 years after graduation. Students only retain access to O365 for 18 months. Students that are not registered or are actively taking courses will lose their access after 3 years. 

Keene State College

Faculty & Staff

  • All computer accounts for tenure and non-tenure track faculty are disabled 120 days after the termination date. This applies to the following ECLS codes: F3, F4, FC, FD, FM, FN, FS, FT, LD.
  • All computer accounts for adjunct faculty are disabled 240 days after the end of their most recent job. This applies to the following ECLS codes: F7, FG.
  • All computer accounts for lecturers are disabled 240 days after the end of their most recent job. This applies to the following ECLS codes: F7, FG.
  • All staff computer accounts will be disabled on the date of their last day of employment.

Students

KSC removes student AD accounts twice a year – a month into the start of both the fall and spring semesters. May graduates are removed during the fall cycle. December graduates are given an exception since many walk in May and get removed in the fall cycle as well. If a student is not registered for a credit course, on an official leave of absence, or does not have some other type of exception, their account is flagged for removal.

Plymouth State University

Faculty & Staff

  • Benefited faculty (TT, Contract, and Clinical) accounts are disabled 30 days after the end of the term in order to allow for grades to be submitted. This includes the following ECLS codes: F1, F2, F3, F4, FQ, FR, FS, FT, L2, L4, LR.
  • Adjunct faculty accounts are disabled 180 days after the end of their most recent job. This includes the following ECLS codes: F6, F7, F9, FH.
  • Teaching Lecturers account termination happens overnight 270 days after the last day of paid employment, or upon the date of termination.
  • Benefited staff (PAT and OS) account termination happens based upon the date indicated in the Letter of Resignation submitted to the HR department, or upon the date of termination.
  • Non-benefited staff (Hourly) account termination happens overnight after the last date of hire - as indicated by the NS-1 submitted to the HR department, or upon the date of termination.

Students

A student computer account will extend for 30-45 days following graduation, after which, it will automatically transition to an alumni account where you will retain access to just your PSU e-mail account indefinitely. University of New Hampshire

Faculty & Staff

  • All computer accounts for full-time tenure and non-tenure track UNH faculty are disabled 90 days after the termination date. This applies to the following ECLS codes: F1, F2, F3, F4, FA, FB, FL, FQ, FR, FS, FT, L2, L4, LB, LR.
  • All computer accounts for UNH adjunct faculty are disabled 120 days after the end of their most recent job. This applies to the following ECLS codes: F7, F8, F9, FP.
  • All computer accounts for UNH lecturers are disabled 120 days after the end of their most recent job. This applies to the following ECLS codes: F7, F8, F9, FP.
  • All computer accounts for UNH staff are disabled on the termination date.

Students

As a general rule, all departing students (graduating or no longer attending/registered) will retain access to UNH IT resources for 1 year and until 30 days after the start of the next semester. For example, students who last attended in May will have access until Early October of the following year. Students who last attended after the fall semester (December) will have access until mid-February of the following year.
