Accounts: Faculty and Staff USNH Password Reset

Per USNH Password Policy, passwords must be changed annually. Any accounts that are not in compliance with the USNH Password Policy will expire in order to secure your personal and instructional data. Recovering an expired account involves using multiple factors of identity verification on the Reset Password module on MyAccount.

These instructions are intended for anyone, but USNH faculty and staff using either Windows or an Apple (MacOS) Desktop or Laptop issued by the university will find the additional information below helpful. Also note that these instructions can be performed from any location, on or off-campus.

You may change your password at any time, but USNH IT Password policy requires a change once per year. Certain circumstances may force you to change your password earlier, like a phishing scam.

How to change your password

Follow the directions below to change your password.

Be prepared to update your accounts on password managers, phones, tablets, and other computers in the office or at home that may have account credentials stored. Some devices may require that you remove and re-add your account. It may be helpful to turn these additional devices off until after you have changed your password, and turn them back on one at a time to update them.

 

  1. Open an internet browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari) and type (or copy and paste) the following URL into the address bar.
  2. Log in using your existing username and password.
    • Please note: If you have not set up all of your account recovery methods in the past, you will be prompted to do any that you've missed (even optional ones) at this point. Optional methods of identity verification can still be skipped.
  3. Click on the Change Password link and follow the onscreen prompts.

 

Attention faculty & staff with university-issued computers: After you change your password, use one of the articles below to update any saved or cached passwords on your devices, and to synchronize your initial login password.  Failing to clear old passwords may result in being locked out of your account
