WiFi Access Points in Dorms

Tags unhwifi WIFI

What are those flat white disks mounted to the ceiling of the dorm rooms and lounges? Those flat white disks are the Wireless Access Points (AP) for the UNH WiFi network and they allow users in the dorm rooms and lounges to connect to the UNH WiFi network.

As designed, the 2 lights on these AP units have been shut off, so as not to disturb anyone in the dorm room or lounge.  However, even though the lights are shut off, these units are working correctly to bring WiFi access to the dorm rooms and lounges.

At times, these AP units do need to be rebooted for maintenance and/or access refreshing, that is the only time you will see the AP power buttons – the 2 lights could be red or green, depending on cycle position.
